Creating good passwords

A good password contains both upper and lower case letters, at least one number, and at least one special character (!@#$%&). This makes it much harder to guess.

Instead of one word, use a whole sentence. "CoffeeIsBestAt7Morning!" is 21 characters, contains everything needed, and is easy to remember.

Use a unique password for each service. If one site gets hacked and you use the same password everywhere, hackers get access to everything.

A password manager stores all your passwords securely, so you only need to remember one master password. Programs like Bitwarden, 1Password or LastPass make this easy.

Two-factor (2FA) means you need both a password AND a code from your phone to log in. Even if someone steals your password, they can't get in without your phone.

If a service you use has been hacked, or you suspect someone has seen your password, change it immediately. Check haveibeenpwned.com to see if your email has been in a data breach.
