Using smartphone
The smartphone is the key to digital Norway. Here you learn the most basic things - from turning on the phone to using apps.
What is a smartphone?
A smartphone is a small computer you can hold in your hand. It's used for calling, sending messages, taking photos, and using apps (programs) like BankID, Vipps and more.
Basic use of smartphone
Hold the large button on the side of the phone for a few seconds. The screen will light up. If the phone has been off for a long time, it may take a while.
Tip!
Most phones have the power button on the right side.
Useful tips
- Charge the phone every night - then it's always ready to use
- If something freezes, try turning the phone off and on again
- Don't be afraid to try - you can rarely break anything
- Ask family or friends for help setting up the phone first time
- Set large text in settings if you find the text too small
