Apply for sick pay

Sick pay replaces your income when you are ill and cannot work. Here we show you step-by-step how to apply.

How to apply for sick pay

Your progress0%

First, you need to get a sick note from your doctor. The doctor sends the sick note electronically to NAV and your employer. You don't need to do anything with the sick note itself.

Tip!

You can be issued a sick note by your GP, emergency room, or specialist. Dentists and chiropractors can also issue sick notes in some cases.
