Repaying student loan
When you finish your education, the loan must be paid back. Here you learn how it works and what you can do if you struggle.
How repayment works
You start paying back the student loan about 7 months after finishing your education. You receive a letter from Lanekassen with a payment plan.
The loan is usually paid over 20 years with fixed monthly amounts. You can choose to pay faster or apply for deferment.

- Manual payment via online banking
- Apply for payment deferment if you struggle
- Apply for interest exemption with low income

About 7 months after finishing education you get your first invoice. It arrives in Digipost or as a letter.
